What is Dry Ice Blasting?
Dry ice blasting uses compressed air to accelerate solid CO₂ pellets (dry ice) onto a surface. On impact, three things happen:
Thermal shock — The cold pellets create a rapid temperature differential that helps break the bond between the coating/contaminant and the substrate.
Micro-impact — The pellets fracture the contamination without eroding the underlying material.
Instant sublimation — Pellets turn directly from solid to gas, expanding ~800x in volume to lift debris away. No water. No secondary media/residue to clean up.
The Result: Surfaces are cleaned thoroughly with minimal downtime, zero moisture, and no abrasive wear.
